About
During business hours I’m a financial counselor at at a hospital in my city. In my spare time, I enjoy loud, hard music and bloody, gory, horror movies. I say things that shouldn’t be said and I think things that shouldn’t be thought. I’m a lover of all things technology related and spend a lot of my free time coding and developing new projects. My hands have touched the inner corners of online affiliate marketing, and my latest projects include browser-based MMO games.
I’m married to the world’s most gracious woman. The drive I have for a lot of the work I do rests in the eyes of the woman I love and I wouldn’t have the strength, courage or passion if it wasn’t for her holding me together.
Of all the projects I’ve dipped my fingers in, my most prized possession and successful project, by far, has been RockTycoon. With over a year and a half of development time, the game launched on January 14th of 2011 and is still online and chugging along to this day. I work, on average, about 14 hours a week on the continued development of the project and plan to continue the work for many years to come. With the successful launch of RockTycoon, I have had the pleasure of meeting and befriending some of the most passionate and loyal players to grace the browser-based MMO industry.
Instead of boring you with much more of my personal life, I invite you to look around my blog and have a peek at some of the projects that I’m currently working on as well as some that have been brought to completion. You should know that I am available for freelance work as either a designer or programmer. I specialize in PHP and MySQL development and can design close to anything you can think up. If you’re interested in hiring me for your projects, please contact me at rickylford@gmail.com.
